The Forest Management Group is engaged in teaching and research of multifunctional forest management concepts. The group aims to advance our understanding on silviculture of multifunctional mixed-species forests in an era of global change. Specifically, we investigate the effect of silvicultural systems, climate change, species mixture and competition on regeneration and growth of temperate and boreal tree species. Our researches employ a variety of tools such as tree rings, forest inventory and remote sensing data.
The Forest Management Group is actively engaged with forest practitioners at the regional and national level and plays an important role in knowledge transfer. The group makes the bridge between silvicultural research, teaching, forest practitioners and the society.
