Invasive neophytes along national roads

Streets and Highways are important corridors for the spread of invasive plant species. On behalf of the Federal Roads Office, FEDRO, WSL surveyed the national road network in 2021 and recorded the distribution of three invasive neophytes using AI-based species recognition in a total of 3.8 million georeferenced images. The mapped species are the tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima), common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) and narrow-leaved ragweed (Senecio inaequidens).

The data here is part of the FEDRO documentation and shows the mapping results as images and interactive maps. The interactive maps are - technically speaking - self-contained HTML files that can be displayed with standard web browsers. To reduce the file size, the downloads are provided in zip format.
