Mega-plot data from Norway, Spain, Slovakia, Switzerland
The mega-plot data consist in a single .RDS file containing 10 columns, where each row represents a mega-plot: - "Country": refers to either "Spain", "Norway", "Switzerland" or "Slovakia" - "Single_plot_size": refers to the size of the plots used in the aggregation process to make the mega-plots. The largest value within each country refers to the orignial plot size of each NFI, while the smaller values within each country refers to the downscaled datasets. The analyses were performed independently for each "Country" and "Single_plot_size", so these should not be analysed together. - "n_plots": refers to the number of plots aggregated - "A_megaplot": area of the mega-plots (sum of the area of all the aggregated plots). It equals "Single_plot_size" multiplied by "n_plots". - "SR": Species richness of the mega-plot - "Hclim": EH variable, corresponds to the climate heterogeneity value of the mega-plot, based on mean annual temperature and annual precipitation - "Htopo": EH variable, corresponds to the topographic heterogeneity value of the mega-plot, based on slope and Beers aspect - "Hsoil": EH variable, corresponds to the soil heterogeneity value of the mega-plot, based on soil pH - "Hba": EH variable, corresponds to the basal area heterogeneity value of the mega-plot - "Hres": residual environmental heterogeneity To fit our models, all EH variables have been standardised. In this dataset, EH variables are provided before standardisation (raw).
